The largest LEGO® store in the world was unveiled today by The LEGO Group and Alquemie Group.

The spectacular 900 square meter store, which covers two stories and is located at Sydney Arcade with a view of Pitt Street Mall in the center of Sydney, breaks the record for being the largest LEGO store in the world.

This store has the first LEGO Minifigure Factory in Australia in addition to specially designed big scale brick elements that are modeled by regional landmarks and architectural styles. Examples of these features include:

The Sydney Harbour Bridge inspired by the 1920s and 1930s when the real bridge was built, this model required 3,630 hours of labor and 549,378 bricks to make. Famous creatures like “Jerry Chip Seagull,” “Alf,” the native pink galah, and “Bridget,” one of the many white cats that once lived on the bridge in the 1950s, are among the signature characteristics. Other notable figures include “Erika,” the rope holder, and “Johnny,” the employee snooping around for a sly cupcake.

The Sydney Opera House mosaic took 1,058 hours to construct and used 303,719 bricks. Brick enthusiasts can try to find the unique “mystery brick”!

Rainbow Gum Tree: this amazing model, which spans from the ground floor to the second level of the building and contains all native Australian animals, was constructed using 183,394 bricks and took 1,271 hours to complete.

The world’s largest LEGO Store is also home to premier LEGO retail experiences:

  • Minifigure Factory: Watch how your own LEGO Minifigure is printed in-store after you’ve created and customized it.
  • Storytelling Table: A brand-new storytelling table that features interactive sections that let visitors “behind the scenes” through interviews and films that are shown on screens allows LEGO enthusiasts to get an inside look at the creative process;
  • Pick and Build Wall: a massive trademark brick experience where guests choose the precise LEGO brick pieces needed to construct custom projects;
  • Opportunities for hands-on play: a monthly in-store event, free LEGO build challenges, and a LEGO play wall;
  • Brick Specialists: They can assist with locating the ideal LEGO set, whether guests are choosing a present, searching for the newest kit, or bringing a LEGO enthusiast in for a special treat.
