On August 1st 2024, three new LEGO Super Mario sets will be available for fans to purchase! Check out the photos and details below!

  • 71435 Battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle – US$64.99 / AU$99.99 / £59.99 / €64.99
  • 71436 King Boo’s Haunted Mansion – US$74.99 / AU$1199.99 / £64.99 / €74.99
  • 71437 The Bowser Express Train – US$119.99 / AU$199.99 / £104.99 / €119.99

Battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle

With 738 pieces and a price tag of $64.99, we have successfully finished the Koopaling family. When assaulted, Peach's castle is easily toppled, and Mario, Peach, or Luigi must stand guard over it. When Peach sits on the stool, the piano in the set prompts her to play a song.

King Boo’s Haunted Mansion

At $74.99 for a set of 932 pieces, baby Yoshi makes his appearance to help Luigi rid the home of ghosts and find hidden treasures along the way, including a new lock and key mechanism for treasure boxes. Not to mention a haunted sofa. King Boo, Dry Bones, and a Boo are included in the set.

The Bowser Express Train

This set, which retails for $119.99 and has 1392 pieces, features a Hammer Bro, Boom Boom, two Para-Biddy Buds, and two Goombas having a tea party together. When Mario steps on the Action tile, the Train recognizes him and makes train noises.

These themes feature the timeless LEGO motifs of trains and castles, with each set centered around a distinct character from the starter set. These playsets appear to be enjoyable, which is in line with the path that the theme has been taking in the last few waves. These are full-fledged, character-driven expansion sets, nonetheless, in contrast to more recent waves. I had been speculating about the possible end of the LEGO Super Mario theme, but these kits prove otherwise, as does the announcement that Mario Kart will debut in 2025.
